The Great Reno Balloon Race will start the season with its inaugural Balloons &#038; Bubbles Champagne Tasting at 7 p.m. May 9 at the <a href="http://eldoradoreno.com">Eldorado Hotel Casino</a>.</p>
<p>Sparkling wine specialist Nels Becker of <a href="http://gruetwinery.com">Gruet Winery </a>will give short lectures on champagne and sparkling wines. Guests will have the opportunity to sample six different varieties paired with desserts provided by the Eldorado, hear music by the <a href="http://www.thestringbeings.com/index.htm">String Beings</a>, and participate in a silent auction.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As of April the <a href="http://weact.biz/cgi-bin/iosity.pl?Location=index">WEACT</a> (Women Executives Accelerating Change Today) Board of Directors will not have enough board members to conduct business on behalf of the organization and its members. In order for WEACT to continue as an organization, they must fill 2-4 board spots immediately. If you are willing to serve on the board, please call or email Janet Hofmann to obtain the necessary application documents, review and complete the application documents and return them within two days.  A brief overview of the requirements are:</p>
<p>-The Board will reduce the current 3 year term to 2-year term (or less) at its April meeting.<br />
-Approximately 10 hours per month.<br />
-Attend monthly board meetings and WEACT events.<br />
-Serve as board liason to at least one committee or serve as an officer of the Board.<br />
-Actively participate in membership recruitment and retention.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The RTYPN welcomes Chris Howard, MBA, CMA, CMC, CBC to the March, 2008 Power Lunch.  After completing a Bachelor in Economics at Stanford University, an MBA at Santa Clara University and two and a half years as an Air Force Officer, and at the age of twenty-five Chris started his extensive career in the business world at Ernst &#038; Young. From there, he went on to make his mark over the next fifteen years in companies such as, Jensen Tools &#038; Alloys, Inc., Pioneer Industries, Inc., Health Tech Management, Inc. and Grant Thornton, CPAs. Chris started his own consulting firm, which was the beginning of other start-up ventures that led him to his current position as the CEO of NorthStar Investors, Inc. He has also been a faculty member at the University of Nevada Reno, University of Phoenix and Sierra Nevada College.</p>
